The EPA has started tearing down two of the buildings on the Halaco site. They are scheduled to work M-F and should be finished in April.
Surprise Surprise now that the government is paying to tear down the buildings, one of the company's who has some sort of ownership in the property is trying to lease out the property for $52,000 a year. If you are not angry at this you should be. The real estate agent is with Troop Realty.
The Oxnard City planner has authored a resolution to apply for a grant to begin work on Gateway Park. This is very good news, since it has been approved by the city attorney, controller etc.
I don't know what it takes people to get motivated but there is plenty of opportunity to get involved. Every property owner in PH and especially in Beach House and the Hideaway and Surfside ought to be all over this making sure that it happens. This is a fantastic opportunity for all of us to really to have property near what could be the most unique coastal area in the state.
