Hi all. We hope you can join us from 2-4pm this Saturday, May 22 for our J.St. Drain trash clean up event. Our meeting spot is: the Parking Lot at 869 West Hueneme Rd, Oxnard, CA (corner of Hueneme Rd. and J St).
This time we will be picking up trash on the street and in the drain. There's tons of trash to pick up, and thus your help is badly needed! This is our 5th J. Street event, and our 2nd J. Street event that will be hosted in Spanish and English! Special thanks to Jorge Napoles and Mario Quincana of LULAC. We hope to continue all of our good work to beautify this waterway and its surrounding neighborhood, and to protect the ecological integrity of the Ormond Beach Wetlands and our coastal waters.
Thanks to the 18 volunteers who filled over 80 bags with 1,100+ pounds of trash from the Santa Clara River Estuary at our event in April! Our January, February, and April work at the Estuary beautified the area and greatly improved its ecological condition!
It would be great to get another group of outstanding volunteers out for this event. Please bring a friend or two and spread the word! Attached are event fliers in Spanish and English, and a waiver form. If you are 18 or under, please obtain a signature of a parent or legal guardian, and have that guardian or parent sign at the event.
If you have any questions the day of or before the event, please call 805 823-3301.
Best of Regards,
Jason and all of us at the Wishtoyo Foundation and its Ventura Coastkeeper Program
